Surprised by how many similarities there are to game of thrones and also suprised by how much say the church had in the King's marriages and divorces...up until Henry did not like the Pope's verdict and he realized he could just do what he wants.
Henry VIII is a story of how a once beloved man can turn into a tyrannical and much feared King. With my knowledge of Henry confined to this one video I can only posit a few reasons for his descent. One of the most obvious being the brain damage he likely suffered from his jousting accident. But other than that and what I think is a more practical takeaway and universal truth is this: small departures from your values and morals can continue cascading until your actions soon reflect none of your previous values. At the time it will just feel like there is no harm because it is such a minor departure and you may tell yourself it is a one time thing, but that hardly ends up being the case. You will tell yourself that same thing the next time...no one sets out to become who Henry VIII did.
